Dagegen hat sich die Gefrierspanntechnik zum Spannen filigraner Bauteile und Wabenstrukturen mehr und mehr durchgesetzt.
Witte Bleckede hat nun ein Gefriersystem mit zwei gleichzeitig arbeitenden Spannplatten entwickelt. Somit kann, während sich eine Platte im Bearbeitungsprozess befindet, die zweite bereits vorbereitet werden. Das Spannen bzw. Anfrieren der Werkstücke dauert ca. 30 Sekunden. Lösen bzw. Abtauen ist ebenfalls innerhalb dieser Zeit möglich. Für den Fixiervorgang werden die Gefrierspannplatten mit Wasser benetzt, die Teile aufgelegt und per Knopfdruck angefroren. Es erfolgt eine kontinuierliche
Überwachung der eingestellten Temperatur, die im Idealfall -10° C beträgt.
Die Versorgungskomponenten wie Kältekompressor, Kühlmittelbehälter etc. sind in einem sogenannten 'Kühlschrank' untergebracht. Dieser wurde mit Rollen versehen, um den Einsatz an unterschiedlichen Bearbeitungsmaschinen zu ermöglichen.
