At MOTEK 2016: WITTENSTEIN on all axes

(PresseBox) (Igersheim, )
From October 10 to 13, 2016, the WITTENSTEIN Group will appear at the Stuttgart Motek under the motto “WITTENSTEIN on all axes”. The focus will first of all be on the servo worm gearheads in the WITTENSTEIN alpha V-Drive series, with a new product group and a technological upgrade of proven gearhead variants. Secondly – and no less exciting – is the new chipless principle for rack pinning, which can be admired at the Group’s booth in Hall 8, Stand 8121.

The range of mechatronic drive solutions on show will be rounded off with other exhibits by various WITTENSTEIN Group companies.

V-Drive: upgrade and extended portfolio

WITTENSTEIN alpha will take advantage of Motek to unveil its extended portfolio of servo worm gearheads in the V-Drive series. The newly developed V-Drive Basic will initially be available in two sizes and two standard output types, namely hollow or solid shaft, with a total of five different reduction ratios. A torsional backlash from 10 to ≤ 15 arcmin is specified for all models. The special design and geometry of the V-Drive Basic’s teeth not only provide high speed reserves and efficiency; they also make the servo worm gearhead very quiet and smooth-running – with a maximum of 65 dBA at full load and no more than about 50 dBA at medium speeds.

V-Drive Value and V-Drive Advanced impress with new performance data

The V-Drive Value and V-Drive Advanced are fully compatible with the proven V-Drive eco and V-Drive+ but with higher torques and significantly less torsional backlash. Both of these V-Drive upgrade versions are moreover specified for a service life exceeding 20,000 operating hours – roughly 25 to 50% better than the current market standard.

efficiency engineering: chipless rack pinning

No drilling, no chips and no problems with machine parts that are unfavourably positioned or otherwise difficult to reach. At the upcoming Motek 2016, WITTENSTEIN alpha will present – and demonstrate – an assembly-friendly principle for pinning racks: all that is needed is the two-piece mounting kit, comprised of a special pin and sleeve which are fitted together using a hammer and an Allen key. The time saving as a result of this chipless assembly process is quite substantial: each rack can be securely fixed with a positive connection in less than 60 seconds – compared to 35 or 40 minutes with conventional pinning. The racks can also be replaced quickly and easily for servicing. Visitors to the WITTENSTEIN booth will be able to see for themselves just how easy pinning can be, and there will even be a chance to try it out.

Sound strategies for developing market potential, constructive mechatronic concepts thought right through to the end – WITTENSTEIN will profit from the Stuttgart exhibition to show innovative solutions for all axes.
