This makes the exact measurement of environmental noise pollution with precise special microphones all the more important.
In today's age of high environmental and health awareness, accurate noise measurement of various types of noise pollution, such as traffic noise, aircraft noise, construction noise, rail and industrial noise and other sources of noise emissions is of crucial importance.
Microtech Gefell/ MTG traditionally offers a wide range of precision measuring microphones with weather protection for temporary and permanent installations.
Most microphones are approved for official calibration and can be used for legally binding measurements .
The R&S and manufacturing of MTG measurement microphones is based on more than 80 years of experience.
Microtech Gefell develops and produces, for examble, high-end microphones for aircraft noise monitoring systems for sound incidence measurements from above and for noise monitoring.+
The WME 980 is the latest product of our in-house development.
The new WME 980 is a weatherproof microphone system for long-term outdoor measurement, stationary and mobile noise control, like analysis of traffic noise.
It consists of a "½" measuring microphone capsule MK 223, the "½" measuring microphone preamplifier MV 203.3, the dehumidifier TA 202, the rain and dust protection RS 98, the windshield VW 98 with bird spike and the power supply module VM 960 including calibration generator. The WME 980 is equipped with a remotely switchable calibration generator, a switchable cable driver and a switchable heater resistor to prevent possible condensation under extreme climatic conditions.
The calibration generator injects a sinusoidal signal into the measurement microphone capsule via an electrostatic actuator.
The weatherproof microphone system can be calibrated with standard sound calibrators or the Pistonphone type 5002.
The WME 980 is designed for Type 1 sound level meters according to IEC 61672.
The WME 980 is a completely new product development for continuous outdoor noise measurements, stationary noise monitoring and the analysis of environmental, traffic and other noise, consisting of
- 1/2" measuring microphone capsule MK 223
specification
The 1/2” measuring microphone capsule MK 223 is designed for acoustical measurements in research and development and also for industrial use. Some applications include audiometry, the measurement of building acoustics and noise levels.
The microphone capsule is designed and very carefully constructed to ensure excellent long-time stability of the electroacoustical parameters. All essential components including the diaphragm are made of nickel and the diaphragm is bonded by a special galvanic process. The measurement capsule MK 223 has a coated diaphragm. That enables to use the capsule in measurement surroundings with elevated environmental pollution. The rear electrode is insulated from the capsule housing by a quartz glass plate. The diaphragm is protected against mechanical damage by a protection grid. The equalization of the static air pressure between the inside and outside of the MK 223 capsule is by means of a capillary tube rear-vented into the preamplifier. This enables the use of the optional TA 202 dehumidifier.
The capsule uses the international standard thread 60 UNS which ensures compatibility with a wide range of calibration equipment and measurement devices available from many manufacturers.
- 1/2" measuring microphone preamplifier MV 203.3
specification
The 1/2” measuring microphone preamplifier type MV 203 is a high-impedance transducer for 1/2" condenser measuring microphone capsules.
The MV 203 permits sound level measurements with a dynamic range from 11 dB up to 168 dB. The preamplifier has a low output impedance. This renders a good driver capability possible even for long cables. The preamplifier is equipped with a heater resistor preventing a possible condensation under extremely climatic conditions.
The Adaptor A 63.1 allows 1” condenser measuring microphone capsules to be mounted on the 1/2” preamplifier and the Adaptor A 67 makes the same for the 1/4” condenser measuring microphone capsules possible. The thread of the preamplifier confirms to the international standard according to IEC 61094.
The measuring microphone preamplifier MV 203 is designed for sound level meters of IEC Type 1 according to IEC 61672.
- dry adapter (TA 202)
specification
The dehumidifier TA 202 is mounted between a ½“- measuring microphone capsule (the capillary for the equalization of the static air pressure is to behind), f. i. MK 202 and MK 221, and a 1/2” – microphone preamplifier. The TA 202 contains silica gel and effectively removes humidity from the air in the microphone capsule. A small window in the case of the dehumidifier allows to control the humidity of the silica gel. The silica gel changes its colour. By heating for some hours at maximum + 130 °C, the gel is easily dried out again.
