"Despite the efforts of numerous companies to virtualise their own data centre and desktop environments, providing workstations and applications from the cloud must frequently still be done manually," explains Thorsten Göbel, Head of Consulting Services at Pironet NDH. "The CloudFactory permits our customers to operate their own in-house IT factory."
The CloudFactory extends the portfolio of Pironet NDH in the "My Business Cloud" sector. This means that with its Business Cloud® offering the IT service provider supports both small to medium size enterprises and large customers who wish to set up or modernise their own private cloud environments.
Technological lead through Platinum Partnership
Pironet NDH is the first cloud computing provider in the world to be awarded the status of a Platinum Partner by ASG. "We are pleased that we will be able to promote our cloud computing business with Pironet NDH in the future," says Barbara Spicek, Senior Vice President Global SI and Channel Sales at ASG. "This partnership will ensure that our joint customers will profit exclusively from the technical innovations in the CloudFactory." Pironet NDH cloud expert Thorsten Göbel adds: "From the technological and commercial viewpoints, the solution is a quantum leap in terms of providing cloud computing environments."
The CloudFactory is based on three components which build on each other and enable mass roll-out and access to virtualised workstation environments: Companies use the "CloudShaper" to plan, set up and manage complex cloud infrastructures. The "CloudRobot" permits fully-automatic provision of applications and services - including role concept and authorisations - from a service catalogue. And the "CloudCockpit" provides users access to their applications from any terminal in a matter of seconds.
ITIL-based establishment and operation of complex cloud environments
All components support the ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library)-compliant set-up of a cloud computing environment. It is, for example, possible to test new releases and log changes to the cloud environment with a complete audit trail. Users can implement these and all other changes, such as Patch Management, centrally via the CloudFactory. There is therefore no need to employ additional cloud management software. The technology is already being used by numerous large German and international companies from the fields of automotive engineering, financial services, telecommunications and aviation.
